see, i don't think that ihop is going for a diner feel. they leave that to denny's. they're going for the waffle house feel, which they accomplish Very well.

i admit, i am very biased. i spent most of my college nights in the same IHOP, studying, while waitresses who knew my name silently brought me more coffee or diet cherry coke (with FAR too many maraschino cherries that i fished out with my straw and sucked on while reading) and when i got hungry, i ordered seasoned red potatoes or biscuits and gravy or migas. AND everyone who meant anything to me from 96 to 99 sat across from me at ihop. so i have this whole warehouse of memories of smiling across a booth at people i love.
i've had my best conversations either a) at ihop or b) in bed.

so. biased!

i haven't been to one since leaving college. why, when there's magnolia, which is far superior in every way? but i LOVED that ihop.
